DECEASED
Surreal overdose
Auditive violence rampaging unchecked. Deceased play a rearguard Thrash/Death, constructing walls upon walls of serrated riffs. Speed and melody are present and the songs are not as monotonous as one would expect in the beginning, however one cannot consider them as the most original or the most up-to-date band as their songs bring to mind the late 80's Thrash/Death bands. But at the same time they present enough potential to gain the attention of a fan of the genre.
This band from Virginia, U.S.A shows to be a band with some interesting potential. This album could classify as a Thrash/Death classic if it weren't for the fact that it came almost two decades too late. It is a solid album nevertheless rich in subtle variation ala early-Voivod while concentrating on the main root of their genre, Thrash/Death, backing the mix up with twin-guitar melodies interrupting the massacre of the dark, transhumanistic lyrical theme presented with harsh vocals masterfully preformed.
This album is worthy of a spin or two, can hold relative similitude to an Italian band under the monicker “Death Mechanism”. Check out this band's myspace and buy the album when available, support this scene
